The L Word is a series named for both love and lyrics, where song-inspired illustrations become intimate snapshots of emotion. Each piece captures the way music imprints itself on our lives - how a lyric can echo louder than memory itself.
This print, “Half Ghost”, takes its inspiration from Casiotone for the Painfully Alone’s haunting track of the same name. Recognizable albums are scattered across the floor, grounding the scene in both nostalgia and devotion. She wears vintage headphones, the cord unfurling into delicate text that spells out the lyric: “at least a song won’t cheat, at least a song won’t leave.”
The piece captures the bittersweet truth of music as a faithful companion - a song will never betray, never abandon, only hold the echoes of our emotions. Printed with archival inks on fine art paper, “Half Ghost” is both a love letter to music and a meditation on the comfort it gives us when people cannot.
