Whiskey Writes is a deeply personal tribute to my late friend, Jesse Garza - a true whiskey aficionado who paired his thoughtful tastings with timeless, meaningful quotes typed on his old typewriter under the name Whiskey Writes.

After his passing, I poured myself a glass of whiskey to reminisce about our friendship. I began sketching new pin-ups, but my grief spilled onto the page - tears smudging lines, droplets circling on the paper, the weight of memory interrupting every stroke. In that moment of stillness and reflection, I chose instead to honor him directly: by drawing my whiskey glass over the unfinished pin-ups and inscribing one of his own lines - “Sometimes the words don’t flow quite as easily as the whiskey.”

This piece is both homage and elegy, merging the warmth of whiskey with the ache of loss, the ritual of creation with the memory of a dear friend. Printed with archival inks on premium paper, Whiskey Writes is a work born of remembrance, reflection, and love.

Available in multiple sizes, ready to frame - an intimate reminder of friendship, art, and the words we leave behind.
