11x14 Archival print of a young Alaskan Coastal Brown Bear cub watching his mother fish in a creek in late September. The fish were running late so he was quite “frustrated” that Mom had not yet caught breakfast. Because hibernation will occur shortly, the bears will consume up to eighty pounds of sedge grass a day when they do not feed on enough fish. This grass is quite nutritious as it is kept watered from tides from Cook Inlet which runs along the banks of Lake Clark National Park and Reserve. This cub is one and a half years old and most two year old human toddlers would not choose salad for a meal. Thus this expression.
